However, after 2011, when the stay back time for all International Students reduced to 4 months or 6 months for Pilot Tier 4 Visa, U.K. saw a dramatic decline in the enrolment figures of International Students. Since then the academic sector of U.K. was rooting for reinstatement of two years of post study work visa and finally their requests have been heard.
The U.K. Prime Minister, Mr. Boris Johnson has announced the return of 2 years post study work permit for all international students starting their UG, PG & PhD courses from Autumn 2020. It will also be available to all International Students who will be in the middle of completing their courses when the new rules are implemented.
This is a wonderful news for all International students who always wanted to study in U.K, however, turned it down due to absence of any leverage to gain the international work-experience. Now, International students can spend at least 2 more years after their course ends allowing them to gain valuable work-experience in United Kingdom.
As per the new proposal, there is no restriction on the type of job one wants to pursue. The British High Commission stated that the new graduate route is open to all International Students including Indians who study and complete their courses in any subject at UG level or beyond in U.K.
