Tuition fees
Average tuition fees in institutions of higher education depend on the area of study and the study cycle. The cost of studies in higher education institutions is, on average, between EUR 1,000 and EUR 5,300 per year for bachelor’s studies, between EUR 2,200 and EUR 6,500 per year for master’s studies and between EUR 7,100 and EUR 8,500 per year for doctoral studies.
Since higher education is notoriously costly in most parts of the world, more than three-fourths of international students in Lithuania agree that they get their buck – with reasonable tuition fees for the highest quality of studies and generous scholarships for high-quality education.
Scholarships
In Lithuania, there are different scholarship opportunities. The State, institutions of higher education and international scholarship programs offer scholarships. Each higher education institution also has its own scholarship funds and financing schemes on the basis of which one-time awards or other types of awards are awarded to students who meet certain institutional funds requirements. Lithuanians living abroad and expatriates (children, grandchildren, grandchildren of expatriates who lived abroad for more than three years and began studying in Lithuania at least in the ninth grade). This scholarship, including holidays, is awarded for one semester.
Monthly expenses
Most foreign students say EUR 350-400 is sufficient to live a month (minus tuition fees). It really depends on how much you want to travel, but our nightclubs, pubs, museums and other attractions are cheaper than elsewhere in Europe. A daily menu at most restaurants will cost between 3 and 5 EUR, a ticket for the cinema-up to 6 EUR, 10 minutes on a local cart track-10-12 EUR.
